Tangerines - Cultivation
Tangerines grow best in areas without harsh winter frost and can be exposed to full sunlight. There are many varieties of tangerines, all requiring slightly different growing conditions, allowing many areas of the world to cultivate one or more. Within the US, tangerines can be grown within USDA zones 8 through 11. Tangerine trees require moist, well-drained soil, fertilized with zinc, nitrogen, and iron. Over-watered trees can develop rot, drip irrigation is recommended. The trees do not require thinning, with few over producing variety exceptions.
